It also reports retention rates, turnover rates, reasons for termination as well as why mixer drivers quit, and driver demographics, including average age, tenure, internal job mobility, and union membership rate. Finally, the survey gathers numerous data points about first-year mixer drivers.
Data is gathered anonymously online in early summer and reported in early fall. Analysis includes comparative statistics by year, region, and company size. A five year-highlights report is published in NRMCA’s Concrete InFocus magazine.

The survey establishes industry benchmarks that impact quality for frequency of testing, quality control personnel, quality documentation, and equipment monitoring. Producers responding to the survey can compare their systems to these industry benchmarks and improve their processes if necessary. NRMCA Regulatory Enforcement Survey
The annual Regulatory Enforcement Survey is conducted by the Safety, Environment and Operations (SEO) Department of the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association (NRMCA). Over the last ten years there has been an unprecedented increase in the amount of regulations being promulgated by federal regulatory agencies. This survey is meant to gauge regulatory action within the industry to determine what, if any, regulatory trends on specific issues, issue types, and geographic regions may exist. This information, which is submitted anonymously and confidentially, helps NRMCA better tailor its actions to address and/or combat any such issues, and to keep a finger on the pulse of when, where, how and why regulatory agencies are targeting and/or levying enforcement actions against the industry. Survey responses are collected at the beginning of each year in January and February, with the final survey report published in late spring.
