NRMCA Announces Senior Staff Restructuring Lewis Elevated, Cooper Named EVP of Human Resources

Alexandria, VA – September 12, 2022

The National Ready Mixed Concrete Association has announced a restructuring of its senior staff, promoting current Executive Vice President, Communication and Promotion Strategy, Gregg Lewis to the newly created position of chief communications officer. He will continue to report to President Michael Philipps. The Association also announced the naming of Tim Cooper as executive vice president, human resources. Mr. Cooper will have overall responsibility for human resource activities for NRMCA and the Portland Cement Association. He will report to Chief Financial Officer Joe Roche.

Mr. Lewis joined NRMCA in March 2015, beginning as a field promoter within the buildings division. As the Build With Strength and Pave Ahead campaigns increased in scope and size, he was named an executive vice president with primary responsibilities of helping to shape NRMCA’s promotion strategies and communications outreach efforts. Mr. Lewis will now oversee all Association communications and promotion strategy, including oversight of the Build With Strength and Pave Ahead promotion teams.

Mr. Lewis holds a master’s degree in architecture from the Yale University School of Architecture and an MBA from the Wake Forest University School of Business.

Mr. Cooper joined NRMCA in August, having previously served as a senior human resource executive with the Urban Land Institute. For NRMCA and PCA, he will be directly involved in recruiting, talent development, compensation and benefits, employee relations, succession planning, organizational development, executive coaching and change management. Mr. Cooper holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Longwood University.

“Gregg’s new role is in recognition of his outstanding performance, commitment to NRMCA and its mission, and taking on expanded roles and responsibilities within the organization over the past 7 years,” said Philipps. “NRMCA must speak with one voice to many constituencies, including members, prospective members, allied associations and organizations, and federal lawmakers, and Gregg is well qualified to lead that messaging across these many platforms.

“We are also very fortunate to have Tim on board,” he added. “His extensive experience in human resources will help ensure NRMCA and PCA are able to recruit and retain top talent, which is obviously critical to having strong and effective trade associations.”
