NRMCA to Host Net-Zero Buildings Conference Two-Day Event to Explore Construction Benefits

Alexandria, VA – January 19, 2021 – The National Ready Mixed Concrete Association will host a two-day conference on the concept of net-zero buildings, bringing together leading experts both from NRMCA staff and the industry to discuss this key component of concrete sustainability. The conference, Pathways to Net-Zero Buildings, will be offered online January 28-29, each day from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Eastern time.

Day 1 falls under the heading of Embodied Pathways and begins with an address by Jeremy Gregory, the executive director of the Concrete Sustainability Hub and an MIT Civil and Environmental Engineering research scientist. Following Mr. Gregory is a presentation titled Material Innovations by NRMCA Executive Vice President of Structures and Sustainability Lionel Lemay and then Specifications by Colin Lobo, NRMCA executive vice president of engineering.

Day 2, Energy Pathways, features Multifamily Case Studies by Mark Ginsberg, a principal at Curtis+Ginsberg, and Lois Arena, director, Passive House Services, Steven Winter Associates. There is also a presentation titled Case Studies in Net Zero with Phil Donovan, technical principal, Little Diversified, and Tracy Steward, principal, CMTA. The conference then concludes with a question and answer session moderated by Gregg Lewis, NRMCA executive vice president of promotion strategy and communications.
