LEED® Green Building Rating System and Concrete
This seminar provides an introduction to the LEED® Green Building Rating
System and a detailed description of how concrete plays an integral role in
green building design and construction. After completing this program, you
will understand how ready mixed concrete can be used to minimize
environmental impact of construction. You will learn how architects,
engineers, contractors and ready mixed concrete producers can work together
to optimize environmental performance of concrete construction using the
LEED® Green Building Rating System. This program provides approximately one
hour of instruction. Participants receive 1 Professional Development Hour (PDH)
and/or 1 Learning Unit (LU).

Performance-Based Specifications for Concrete
The P2P Initiative of the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association proposes
the use of performance-based specifications for concrete construction as an
alternative to traditional prescriptive specifications. This presentation
demonstrates how performance based specifications encourage innovation, cost
effective construction, and quality control. A sample performance-based
specification using current building code requirements is presented. This
program provides approximately one hour of instruction. Participants receive
1 Professional Development Hour (PDH) and/or 1 Learning Unit (LU).

Pervious Concrete: Solutions to Stormwater Runoff
This online seminar provides an introduction to pervious concrete pavement
as a solution to reducing stormwater runoff from building sites. You will
learn what pervious concrete pavement is, its engineering properties and
construction techniques. Pervious concrete pavement is considered a best
management practice by EPA and is a recommended solution to reducing runoff
in the LEED Green Building Rating System. Pervious concrete pavement is
ideal for parking areas, sidewalks, patios, tennis courts, roads and
driveways. This program provides approximately one hour of instruction.
Participants receive 1 Professional Development Hour (PDH) and/or 1 Learning

NRMCA is a registered provider with the American Institute of Architects
(AIA) Continuing Education System (CES) allowing it to officially deliver
continuing education to registered architects and engineers. The 70,000
members of the AIA must complete 18 Learning Units (LU) of continuing
education annually to remain in good standing. Each LU is equivalent to one
contact hour of education. In addition, architectural boards in 30 states
and 10 Canadian Provinces have implemented mandatory continuing education
relicensure. Most states recognize the AIA/CES as the primary source of
professional development for their licensed architects. Similarly, over 25
states have mandatory continuing education for registered professional
engineers, with many requiring as many as 15 Professional Development
Hours (PDH) per year. Many states also recognize the AIA/CES program as a
source of professional development for licensed engineers.
